Deliveroo, the UAE’s favourite food delivery service has just opened its largest ‘dark kitchen’ in Dubai. Which also happens to be its largest ‘dark kitchen’ globally.
Named the ‘Deliveroo Editions Hub’, this new expansion will prepare for more than a dozen restaurants and deliver to popular Dubai neighbourhoods. The new expansion comes after food delivery firms globally report increased orders during the pandemic, with many investing in ‘dark kitchen’ business models to cater to the demand. Mr Anis Harb, Deliveroo’s General Manager told The National
“Editions kitchens have proven to be a great way to help our restaurant partners expand without the up-front investment.”
Deliveroo has spearheaded the ‘dark kitchen’ concept in the UAE since 2017, being at the forefront of the industry propelled them to accelerated growth and dominance in the market. The numbers show that their business model is paying off, after they reported an impressive 114% increase in orders globally in the first three months of 2021, compared to 2020.
