Some of the world's most famous faces have already been granted a prestigious Golden Visa. Since 2019, the UAE has introduced a new system for long-term residence visas called Golden Visa’s. The new visa classification enables foreigners to live, work and study in the UAE without the need of a national sponsor and with 100 per cent ownership of their business on the UAE’s mainland. 1. Cristiano Ronaldo
International football star, Cristiano Ronaldo, was awarded the UAE Golden Visa, According to local media reports, the players have received the visa as Dubai Sports Council initiative to connect with international players from all over the world, and encourage them to live and invest in UAE.
2. Shah Rukh Khan
The King of Bollywood was the first Indian celebrity to be given the coveted visa in November 2020. Khan is not only a frequent visitor to the UAE, but also has a house on Palm Jumeirah and was even named brand ambassador of Dubai in 2016.
3. Novak Djokovic
In February 2020, international tennis ace Novak Djokovic received his Golden visa. Novak Djokovic said it was an “honour” to be the latest beneficiary of UAE's golden card residency scheme, shortly after winning the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships title
4. Mohamed Ramadan
Egyptian actor, Mohamed Ramadan, received a Golden Visa in September 2020, which allows him residency in the UAE for 10 years. “Thank you, Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashed and #Dubai government on the most beautiful gift, UAE Golden visa, may God protect the country, its ruler, and beloved people,” he wrote on Instagram.
5. Najwa Karam
Lebanese superstar Myriam Fares was granted the Golden Visa. “I am proud and honoured to receive the golden residency from my second country, the United Arab Emirates,” she captioned the post.
6. Mohan Lal
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has received his Golden Visa in August 2021. The actor shared on social media photos receiving the visa..
7. Karen Wazen
The Lebanese-British fashionista, influencer and eyewear designer received the Golden visa in May 2021. Recognizing her valuable contribution to the UAE, Karen Wazen was honoured with a Golden Visa by Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Director-General of the Government of Dubai Media Office.
8. Sanjay Dutt
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt in May 2021 thanked the UAE government for granting him the Golden Visa. Dutt took to his social media handles to share clicks of himself holding his passport with the golden visa.
9. Nelly Karim
Egyptian actress Nelly Karim received her Golden Visa in March 2021, speaking to web show ET Bil Arabi in March, she said she was grateful and relieved she can come back and forth to the UAE for the next decade as she pleases.
10. Izu Ani
Popular chef Izu Ani, the man behind a number of restaurant concepts in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, was awarded the UAE golden visa in April 2021. "To me, Dubai is not a transient place, it is somewhere that we can call home, rather than just pass through. It is a destination that allows us to grow,” the Nigerian-born, London-raised chef said in a statement at the time.
